Read the book,not the movie.

Well we all know the usual cliche "I'd rather watch the movie than read the book,it saves times and I get to enjoy myself, probably have a peek at the cute actor/actress". Well,I've got news for you homie, you're missing on what reading has got to offer. About 3 years ago,I read all the Harry Potter series(Quidditch fans holla),though it took time but I was able to work on my imagination and stuffs and I had a really great time, plus it increased my vocabulary and diction. So,imagine my disappointment when my youngest sibling bought the whole series-on CD,and interesting details were omitted, not to mention the disinteresting and annoying film tricks. Let's be more recent, whoever has read " the Hunger games " trilogy  will agree with me that it's totally different from the movie "the hunger games. If you haven't,give it a try today. Here's a list of books to help you begin with-from my own personal collections; 1)Harry Potter seri

Healthy Food Tip Is it best to throw out the water in which beans have been soaking? The soaking of black beans in water has always found fairly widespread support in food science research as a way of improving overall black bean benefits. Yet, the discarding of the bean soaking water has been a topic of considerable controversy. A recent study that may help put this controversy to rest looked at many different advantages and disadvantages of tossing out the water used to soak beans. It found that the advantages clearly outweigh the disadvantages. On the advantage side of things, getting rid of the soaking water also means getting rid of some of the phytates and tannins that can lower nutrient availability. It also means reducing flatulence-related substances like raffinose (up to 33% removed along with the soaking water) and stachyose (up to 20% removed). A final advantage was the retention of resistant starch. While some of the total carbohydrate content in the black beans was lost

Death For Sale;Smoking Is Not For Me.

Image
This poem was written by Breanna Weed,2004. I had to practically 'excavate' it out to raise awareness about the dangers of smoking and lung cancer.    There are many reasons why smoking is not for me,    The reasons are simple and easy to see.     I want to live a longer life...that's one of the reasons why,     I want to be healthy and not prematurely die,     There are 3800 chemicals found in tobacco smoke,     Now you can see why smoking cause people to choke.   Forty-three of these chemicals are known to cause cancer,   So if you want to be healthy, smoking isn't the answer,    Smoking is glamorous...cigarette companies have lied,    I'm not poisoning my body with benzene, arsenic, or cyanide.    I don't want nicotine to be my master,    I don't want my heart to work harder,or pump faster.    My life is precious,I have no desire to wheeze,    I don't want to risk dying of heart disease,    Cigarette smoking kill 3 million people a y

Wife Beater

Wife Beater: A poem on domestic violence.  Don't you remember when you paid her bride price, She did nothing but commit her lifetime to you, But it's all been built on lies, You didn't love her,you were just looking for someone to call wife. It isn't her fault that you took hits on the stock market, But she'll be there, when all's low, It isn't her fault, the recession caused you to lose your job, But she'll be there, when all seems lost, And all she's ever wanted was a modicum of your love and acceptance. You're a wife beater, Saying she brought bad luck, That she's responsible for your misfortunes, And that things will get better with her out of your life, Well you're wrong. Does it make you feel good? Knowing that there's a punching bag waiting just for you, After squandering the little you have on booze, You come home and beat her black and blue. Coming home and throw up on the couch, But she'll be there to clean your mess up,
