Domestic violence is a serious issue, a thorn in today's society. 🙅😟 What is it? 😐 Domestic violence can be described as the misuse of power by one adult in a relationship to control another. It is also the establishment of fear in a relationship through violence and other forms of abuse. This violence can take the form of physical assault, psychological, social and financial abuse; it could also be in the form of sexual assault. Photo Credit: @ollyjoey_ademols While the sun hid its face, Dead was its smouldering blaze, You found me, deep in life's maze, My feet were blistered and my eyes were in a haze, The shroud for my soul was torn, raw and sick, My skin was darkness and the grime made me sticky, Wild, distrusting eyes filled with contempt, That was how I saw you, another opportunist, So I ran, but could I move my weary limbs? Parched, stung, drowning in bitterness, rabid, I declined your affection and roared, let me be, But you stayed, unmoved by my invectives, And just when the waves threatened to wreak my bridge, You swooped down, and whispered, Words I could never forget, Peace, be still. @IamThrelaculis.

Share with someone, until everyone knows that #AbusiveRelationships is a real issue.  Help Me Tell Them. Help me tell them, That are oppressed and abused by their men, They who suffer in silence at the recieving end, Sound the alarm and let it pierce ears, Speak up, it's time to stop hiding in the closet, Face tender, sore eyes flooded with bitter tears, Help me tell them, Who are in shackles and call it relationship, Where he hasn't done anything on your head, Yet wants your back to know every inch of his bed, No traditional paraphernalia nor palm wine kegs, Nay! Doesn't even know your parents, And yet strikes like thunder, giving you welts, Help me tell them, They that are precious jewels, These daughters and sisters, Who suffer and hide their scars, That the cycle of violence ought to end with the mother
