Wife Beater

Wife Beater: A poem on domestic violence.  Don't you remember when you paid her bride price, She did nothing but commit her lifetime to you, But it's all been built on lies, You didn't love her,you were just looking for someone to call wife. It isn't her fault that you took hits on the stock market, But she'll be there, when all's low, It isn't her fault, the recession caused you to lose your job, But she'll be there, when all seems lost, And all she's ever wanted was a modicum of your love and acceptance. You're a wife beater, Saying she brought bad luck, That she's responsible for your misfortunes, And that things will get better with her out of your life, Well you're wrong. Does it make you feel good? Knowing that there's a punching bag waiting just for you, After squandering the little you have on booze, You come home and beat her black and blue. Coming home and throw up on the couch, But she'll be there to clean your mess up,

This is an excerpt of an interesting book to read. The writer outlined even the smallest details and made it seem you were in the story itself. "......So, out of options, the king instructed the High Mages to use the Geneshan artifact,” I said. Ava nodded. “The plan was to use the power of the artifact to initiate a massive transfer portal from Hol to Balak’s location. They’d bring in the king’s personal guard along with every other mage available. The hope was to hit Balak hard and in all the confusion seize him.” “And you left?” I asked. “Snuck away that morning, right before they attempted the transfer portal. I didn’t sign up for that. I felt the power of that artifact. And I sat in on some of the preliminary studies of it. The Geneshans had every right to be scared of using it. Dekar grunted. “Obviously.” “Well, at least the worst of it seems to be over,” said Ira. “I’m not sure,” said Ava. “What do you mean?” Dekar asked. “People are getting better. You’re finally up.” “Yes

Read the book,not the movie.

Well we all know the usual cliche "I'd rather watch the movie than read the book,it saves times and I get to enjoy myself, probably have a peek at the cute actor/actress". Well,I've got news for you homie, you're missing on what reading has got to offer. About 3 years ago,I read all the Harry Potter series(Quidditch fans holla),though it took time but I was able to work on my imagination and stuffs and I had a really great time, plus it increased my vocabulary and diction. So,imagine my disappointment when my youngest sibling bought the whole series-on CD,and interesting details were omitted, not to mention the disinteresting and annoying film tricks. Let's be more recent, whoever has read " the Hunger games " trilogy  will agree with me that it's totally different from the movie "the hunger games. If you haven't,give it a try today. Here's a list of books to help you begin with-from my own personal collections; 1)Harry Potter seri
